United Networks manufactures, sells and supports RS 232 based data communications products in India.The company was founded in 1987 by an engineer with several years of experience in implementing fiber optic networks in USA. The company began by providing customised fiber optic system solutions to large clients, and is the process, gained reputation for several indigenous “firsts” in the data communications history of India: India’s first fiber optic multiplexer system at Indian Institute of Science; India’s first fiber optic token ring at Oil & Natural Gas Commission; India’s first fiber optic token bus 802.4 system at ECIL. Later, it
looked at a larger market segment those who use twisted pair wires for data communication.
