Model 2311 operates asynchronously full duplex over 4 wire or half duplex over 2 wire lines. Switch setting for 2 Wire/4 Wire is provided. Switch setting for Auto/RTS Control is also provided. It is designed for high performance applications, where protection of data and equipment from electrical interference and power supply fluctuations is desired. Optical isolation at both ends gives it high common mode noise rejection capability. These converters work with a wide variety of equipment since they are completely transparent to character formats (5,6,7,8 data bits, any number of start/stop bits).
