This Statistical Multiplexer makes the most economical and efficient use of a modem link. Its async output makes it compatible to modems with data compression facility, giving you a high capacity link at reasonable cost. The modem link can be either dail up type or leased. This is a statistical multiplexer specially designed to drive a modem. It can respond to flow control from modem. This ensures your data integrity even when the modem is driving a noisy line and needs to slow down the traffic flow to correct errors. Any terminal can dail a modem to establish the link. Once established, the link is available to all users simultaneously. |
